This backflow insulated cover is an American-made solution designed for optimal accessibility and protection. Featuring a lift-off design, this cover allows easy access for testing and maintenance. It includes an ASSE Standard 1060 compliant drain flap to meet safety standards. To ensure freeze protection, pairing with Chromalox Heat Cable #30 is recommended, providing 90W of heating power. Constructed from marine-grade aluminum and insulated with polyisocyanurate foam board, it also has a glass fiber reinforced facer on each side, making it both durable and secure against vandalism.

How to Size a Backflow Enclosure

Start by measuring the full installed assembly — including the backflow preventer, shutoff valves, test cocks, strainers, and any unions. That total measurement is your minimum inside clearance need. Then add at least 6 inches on each dimension so technicians can reach test cocks and perform annual testing without having to remove the enclosure.
