Coir mats offer a durable, strong erosion control solution and ship in rolls of mesh netting. The netting provides a lattice ground structure that plants and grass seed grow through. Over time the coconut coir degrades and the native vegetation remains, holding the soil in place.

Designed to be placed on hillsides and graded slopes, coir mats are both biodegradable and photo-degradable, with a range of strength grades and expected lifespans to match your project. Coir is a subset of erosion control blanket — a natural, sustainable alternative that leaves no synthetic residue behind.

Why Coir

Grows vegetation through it

The open lattice lets seed germinate and roots establish while the mat holds soil in place.

Fully biodegradable

Natural coconut fiber breaks down in 2–5 years with no chemical treatment and no synthetic residue.

Strength grades

400, 700, and 900 gram weights let you match durability and lifespan to slope and flow conditions.

Handles tough sites

Well suited to hillsides, shorelines, and wetland stabilization where a natural solution is preferred.

How it's used

Clear and grade the slope, seed with the grass best suited to your region, then roll out the coir mat and stake it in place. Vegetation grows in and through the lattice as the coir slowly degrades — leaving a naturally stabilized surface. For steep or high-flow conditions, pair coir with additional erosion control products.
