Decorative Rock Cover · Hand-Finished Fiberglass · 5 Sizes

Not every utility that has to sit above grade belongs in the sightline. A decorative rock cover encloses a wellhead, backflow assembly, valve cluster, septic riser, or meter inside a hand-finished fiberglass formation with a natural stone texture, so the equipment stays reachable and the landscape stays intact. Five sizes, from a compact cut-style rock to a formation wide enough for a multi-component grouping.

Decorative Rock Cover

One Enclosure for Everything That Has to Sit Above Grade

Wellheads, backflow assemblies, irrigation valves, septic risers, cleanouts, meters — utilities that have to finish above grade and stay reachable. A decorative rock cover puts a hand-finished fiberglass formation over any of them, with a stone texture and tonal gelcoat that reads as a landscape boulder. Five sizes cover most above-grade assemblies.

What It Covers

Sized by the Assembly, Not the Application

A rock cover doesn't care what it's hiding — it cares about footprint and height.

The same five formations work over a wellhead, a reduced-pressure backflow assembly, an irrigation valve manifold, a septic riser, a sewer cleanout, or a utility meter. Measure the length, width, and height of the assembly, add clearance, and pick the size that clears it. Nothing is fastened on a routine install, so one cover can also be repurposed to another location later — which is not true of an enclosure built around a specific device.

Why Specifiers Choose It

Meets the Aesthetic Requirement, Keeps the Access

Clears design review

Specified on HOA, commercial, and municipal landscapes where governing documents restrict visible utility equipment but relocation isn't an option.

Shields the equipment

Blocks sun, weather, and the mower and trimmer damage that accounts for most above-grade utility repairs.

Full access, no hardware

Lifts off by hand for inspection, testing, or repair — no panel to unbolt and no fasteners to track on a service call.

Common Applications

Where These Get Used

Any assembly that has to stay above grade and stay serviceable is a candidate. Sizing follows the equipment, so the application matters less than the dimensions.

  • Wellheads and risers on residential and rural properties
  • Backflow and valve assemblies on commercial frontages
  • Septic risers and cleanouts in finished turf and beds

Construction

Hand-Laid Fiberglass, Finished One at a Time

Each formation is hand-laid fiberglass laminate with an irregular profile and a tonal pigmented gelcoat — mottled the way quarried stone is rather than a single flat color. The pigment is part of the shell, not a coat of paint on top, so there's no finish layer to chalk, peel, or touch up.

  • Irregular profile — not a symmetrical dome
  • UV-stabilized gelcoat integral to the laminate

Measure length, width, and height of the full assembly including the highest fitting, then add clearance. Sizing up is the safer error — a cover that sits down over the equipment looks natural, one that barely clears it does not.

FAQ

Common Questions

Can it cover something other than a wellhead?
Yes. These are sized by dimension, not by device — backflow assemblies, irrigation valve manifolds, septic risers, cleanouts, and meters all work. Measure the assembly's length, width, and height, add clearance, and match it to the size table above.
What size do I need?
Measure to the top of the highest fitting rather than the pipe, and across the widest point of the assembly. The two cut-style sizes suit a single riser or compact device; Medium and larger cover a wellhead together with a tank, or a clustered backflow and metering group.
Will a technician still be able to service the equipment?
Yes — nothing is fastened on a routine install. The shell lifts off by hand, so access is the same as uncovered equipment. That matters for backflow assemblies in particular, which need periodic testing.
Does it provide freeze protection?
No — a decorative cover blocks wind, sun, and precipitation but carries no insulation. For hard-freeze climates choose an insulated fiberglass well cover with a closed-cell urethane foam core, or for backflow specifically, an insulated backflow enclosure with an optional heater.
Will the finish last outdoors?
The pigment is in a UV-stabilized gelcoat molded into the fiberglass, not a paint layer, so it resists the chalking and fading of field-painted units. There is nothing to repaint over the service life.
