Decorative Well Head Cover · Hand-Finished Fiberglass · 5 Sizes

The well head has to stay above grade, vented, and reachable — which rules out burying it or sealing it inside a box. This decorative well head cover sets over the casing, sanitary cap, and wiring as a hand-finished fiberglass formation with a natural stone texture. The cap keeps its clearance, a technician lifts the shell off by hand, and the yard stops looking like a utility site. Five sizes.

Decorative Well Head Cover

Hide the Well Head Without Interfering With It

A well head is the one part of the system that cannot be buried, sealed, or relocated — the casing has to finish above grade, the sanitary cap has to stay clear, and a technician has to reach it. This cover works with those constraints rather than around them: a hand-finished fiberglass formation that sets over the assembly and lifts off by hand. Five sizes.

Before You Cover It

What the Well Head Still Needs

Most bad well head concealment attempts fail for the same reason: they treat the well head as something to bury.

It isn't. The casing has to terminate above finished grade, the sanitary cap has to stay clear and uncompromised, and wiring and conduit entries need to stay inspectable. Mounding soil over the head, boxing it in permanently, or sealing the cap creates a contamination path and a service problem at the same time. A decorative cover avoids all of that by sitting over the assembly without touching it, resting on grade and lifting off whenever someone needs in. Nothing is fastened to the casing and nothing contacts the cap.

What It Does

Concealment, Protection, and Full Access

Reads as landscape

The stone profile sits in beds and turf as a boulder, which clears HOA and commercial aesthetic requirements a plain enclosure won't.

Keeps traffic off the cap

Shields the cap, casing, and conduit from mowers, trimmers, and impact — the damage that compromises a sanitary seal.

Nothing to dismantle

No fasteners on a routine install. Pulling a pump or servicing the cap means lifting the shell aside, not removing hardware.

Sizing the Head

Measure to the Top of the Cap

A well head on its own is a small target, so the two cut-style sizes usually fit. Measure from finished grade to the highest point — normally the cap or a conduit fitting above it — and across the widest part of the assembly, then add clearance so the shell never rests on the cap.

  • 16″ × 16″ × 25″ for a standard head and sanitary cap
  • 19″ × 19″ × 32″ where the casing stands taller or carries conduit
  • Step up to a formation if a tank or pump shares the pad

Construction

Hand-Laid Fiberglass, Color Molded In

The shell is hand-laid fiberglass laminate with an irregular profile and a tonal pigmented gelcoat — varied the way quarried stone is rather than one flat color. The pigment is part of the laminate, not paint applied over it, so there is no coating to chalk or peel and nothing to repaint.

  • Hand-laid fiberglass laminate shell
  • UV-stabilized gelcoat integral to the shell

FAQ

Common Questions

Is it safe to cover a well head?
Covering is fine; burying or sealing is not. This cover rests on grade over the assembly — it doesn't attach to the casing, bear on the cap, or mound soil against the head, so the casing still terminates above grade and the sanitary cap stays clear. Local well codes vary on required clearance above finished grade, so confirm your jurisdiction's requirement before you set anything over the head.
What size do I need for just the well head?
Measure from finished grade to the highest point — the cap or any conduit fitting above it — and across the widest part of the assembly, then add clearance. A standard head and sanitary cap generally fits the 16″ × 16″ × 25″; a taller casing or one carrying conduit usually calls for the 19″ × 19″ × 32″.
Can a technician still pull the pump?
Yes. Nothing is fastened on a routine install, so the shell lifts off and sets aside — access is the same as an uncovered head, with no panel to remove and no hardware to track.
Does it protect the well head from freezing?
It blocks wind, sun, and precipitation but has no insulation — this one is built for appearance and physical protection. In hard-freeze climates an insulated fiberglass well cover adds a closed-cell urethane foam core at roughly R-7 and is the better choice.
Will the finish fade or need painting?
No. The pigment is in a UV-stabilized gelcoat molded into the fiberglass rather than painted on, so there's no coating to chalk or peel and nothing to touch up.
